Which handheld gaming gadgets are worth it?

I'm today years old when I found out about Steam Deck. I have always known Steam as a platform exclusively on PC, so it was a nice surprise to hear that they ventured into mobile gaming. Furthermore, the gadget can load some non-Steam games and can be connected to a monitor if necessary. I didn't expect mobile gaming competition to be this tough! Which gadget would you get if you had the chance to buy one?

The Nintendo Switch! It is highly portable, has a long battery life, and there are tons of games that have been designed for it. I used to have a Switch, but I accidentally left it behind at the LAX airport. I need to get another one.

The Steam Deck gaming device looks like loads of fun as well. My understanding is that it works much like a Switch, so it can be played as is or connected to a monitor. It's a bit pricey though.

One more vote for Nintendo Switch. I don't own one myself, but many of my friends have it, and I have played many cool games on it. I am considering getting one in the near future.

I didn't know Switch can also be connected to a monitor. Gaming gadgets these days are so cool; it seems like you can't go wrong with whichever. Still, I assume they still can't play heavy games the way bigger consoles can. They are selling the portability, after all.
