Kaspersky was, and maybe still is, a well-respected cybersecurity provider. The company is based in Russia's capital. Supposedly they operate independently from their government, but Putin isn't known for respecting boundaries and some governments fear that the software could be used for spying. Having said that, Kaspersky's products still obtain excellent results when tested against malware, plus they've been around for 20 years. Do you trust Kaspersky?

I'm not sure, really. I've used their internet security software in the past, but I stopped once the accusations of spying came to light. I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. I'm not sure if anything has ever been proven, though. If they're totally innocent, then it's a real shame that the brand's reputation has taken a hit.- Quote

I trust them. There's a part of me that believes Ed Snowden is running it.
