    Watch out....

Many recalls explain the dangers of using portable devices against the manufacturer terms. Who had a phone near too much heat, or charged it the wrong way and made it explode? There are too many reasons we all need to enhance the care of our devices, to prevent them from being stolen or tampered with.

Additionally, many times I read a device can save you from danger.

That's a good reminder, Forum Lead. However, technology changes so rapidly, that I think we've begun to look at it as disposable. There'll be a new hot thing in the pipeline, so why bother taking care of your devices? It boils down to innovation and convenience over longevity and safety, I think. It's an unfortunate reality.

Innovation is cool—how great it would be to have a completely safe mobile phone on your bedside someday—but I doubt we will ever reach that level of failproof no matter how much we try. To bring the best out of those devices, we need to stay on our toes.

How do you usually "watch out" for your devices? Do you go to the service centers for regular cleaning or check online tips often?
